Reflecting on God
“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” – Zephenia 3:17
Happy New Year! I don’t know about y’all, but a season that is supposed to be centered on Christ has somehow left me feeling far from Him altogether. No matter the gifts received, trips taken, or moments spent with family, I find myself longing most for time with Him.
Anyone else?
This morning, I sat down—distraction free—and spent time simply listening. I pulled out my Bible, and I felt my body exhale as I was reminded of my deep, intrinsic need for Jesus.
Maybe you’re someone who makes resolutions each year. I tend to float in and out of that circle, but this year I want to focus on trust. The past faithfulness of God in my life points to the very core of who He is: a Savior who provides, loves, forgives, and restores all that is broken.
Have you seen that in your own life?
The days move by so quickly that we often lose sight of those blessings. Our tendency to hurry through life robs us of reflection. If you have a moment today, stop. Pause right where you are and reflect on where you saw God in 2025. Maybe it was through a struggle. Maybe it came through healing of some kind. Regardless, ponder those things in your heart today.
Today is the perfect day to recalibrate, refocus, and restructure how you want your relationship with Jesus to look this year. Because, my friends, a relationship is what you are longing for most.
That feeling you have—the one where it seems like something is missing? Something is.
I can assure you from personal experience: if I don’t spend time with Jesus each day—even if only for a few minutes—my day feels incomplete. My joy is fleeting, and my soul aches for more. It may sound dramatic, but I say it because I know it to be true.
So today, reflect.
Today, be intentional with your time with Jesus.
Today, recognize your need for a Savior who holds all the love, peace, and joy you could ever want.
Reflection Question:
How can you set aside time for Jesus each day in 2026?
What time of day would work best for you?
What might that time look like?
