Kingdom Focused
Philippians 3:20 is a verse near and dear to my heart. It serves as a constant reminder for me, especially when this world falls short of my expectations, which is…often.
The verse tells us that “our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ..”
Based on that verse, how Kingdom focused is your life? How often do your actions and thoughts make it through the “who-cares” colander, based on the idea that Jesus only cares about His family getting Home to Heaven? Do your new shoes get you Home? Does that prideful argument with a friend get you Home? Does that new job title get you Home? Maybe they are important to you, but are they Kingdom focused? I have to ask myself this daily and most of my thoughts, words and deeds fall short of Kingdom work.
God wants you to enjoy the blessings that this life offers through Him, but more than anything, He wants eyes fixed upward, on His and your Kingdom to come.
If it ain’t Jesus, it’s white noise, baby.
With the release of my book and the initial “best seller” title, many have asked for sales updates. I think I disappoint when I don’t have a clear answer for them. But I can tell them of the individual texts and comments that I have received in a given week about how the Lord is using this book. One text that indicates someone turning towards the Kingdom is worth a million sales to me. Truly. If even one, if even just one.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
